Vienglish is a term used by many of my friends to show the mix between languages, and perhaps cultures. This new meld between English and Vietnamese represents my life in Ho Chi Minh City where my culture and beliefs effect how I see and understand the new world around me. Vienglish, my travel blog is an outlet for me to share with others my experiences here in Vietnam and my passion for great food!

Cholon - District 5

The little stir fry restaurant only had two signs on the outside.

Cholon - District 5

This little stir fry restaurant is tucked away in the cloth alleyway. There are no definite signs or advertisings that mark it so if your lucky enough to stumble onto this place, sit down for a snack. They serve up piping hot stir fried rice with pork and ice cold drinks.

Posters celebrating Vietnam and Communisim are everywhere in Ho Chi Minh City.

Gas Shortage??

Here are some handy personal gas stations, right from Shell!

Cholon - District 5

These pictures were taken in Cholon District 5. It seems as though someone was drying out orange peels, but for what purpose, I don't know.
